Preparing for "Agreement in the Spirit"

Being a divorced definitely gives a point of view that can prepare you in your single journey if you allow it. Read on as I share one of my revelations as I prepare for my future forever love 💕
Marriage highlights differences between spouses, but healthy marriages challenge these differences and still achieve a "perfect bond." True agreement with your spouse is selfless and about expressing love in difficult times. This scripture offers guidance on what to work on now and prompts self-evaluation for what we ask of God.

“So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper], bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive.”

Colossians 3:12- 13 AMP

“Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].”

Colossians 3:14 AMP

Notes:

As God's chosen people, we are set apart for His purpose. We must:

1. Put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

2. Forgive each other as the Lord has forgiven us.

3. Wrap ourselves in unselfish love.

These actions lead to the perfect bond of unity when we seek the best for others.

❤️Identity:We are chosen, holy, and set apart for His purpose.

❤️Obedience:God provides a list of characteristics we should adopt from a heart posture perspective.

🦋Outcome:Our obedience results in the perfect bond of unity.

As we prepare for the one God is preparing for us, we should strive for a spiritually perfect marriage. Practicing these characteristics helps us respond in ways that please God. Even though responding in love isn't always natural, scripture shows us how to create bonds that endure ups and downs while staying in perfect agreement spiritually.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we honor you as King of kings and Lord of lords. Thank you for your love, light, and revelation today. We surrender our will and ways to yours. Send the Holy Spirit to guide us in creating hearts full of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. As we prepare for the one you are sending, help us be faithful to you. We love you and thank you.
In Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen.
